July 30, 31 & August 1 & 2

Schweizer Fest Musical – Mary Poppins – Performances Thursday, Friday, and Saturday begin at 7 p.m.; Sunday’s matinee will begin at 2 p.m. – Tell City Junior-Senior High School auditorium (900 12th Street, Tell City). Tickets: $12 for adults; $6 for children under 12. For tickets e-mail tcmarypoppins@gmail.com.

Monday, August 3

  • 6 & 7 p.m. – Miss Schweizer Fest Pageant – Community Christian Church (821 10th Street, Tell City). Admission is $2 per person and will be donated to Community Christian Church (see Queen Contest page for details)

Tuesday, August 4

  • 5 p.m. – 41st Annual Schweizer Fest Old Timers Baseball Game – Tristate players (active or inactive) over the age of 40 are invited to participate – Frank Clemens Field at Walter Hagedorn Park. Sponsored by Golden Living Center-Lincoln Hills (see Sports Schedule page for details)

Wednesday, August 5

  • 9 a.m. - Midnight – Schweizer Fest Market – City Hall Park (see Schweizer Fest Market page for details)

  • 5:45 p.m. – Opening Ceremony – Musik Halle, City Hall Park – Welcoming remarks by Mayor Barbara Ewing

  • 6 - 10 p.m. – Family Appreciation Night – City Hall Park – Free rides for kids of all ages. Sponsored by Schweizer Fest Inc.

  • 6 - 6:30 p.m. – Tell City Jr.-Sr. High School Band Concert – Musik Halle, City Hall Park (see Musical Entertainment page for details)

  • 7 - 7:30 p.m. – 45th Annual Distinguished Citizen Award – Musik Halle, City Hall Park. A reception will follow the presentation at the Tell City Museum (at the corner of 9th & Franklin Streets).

  • 7:30 p.m. – Annual Apple Lighting Ceremony– Musik Halle, City Hall Park

  • 7:30 p.m. – Street Car Parade and Contest – Registration at 6:45 p.m. in front of Hauenstein’s. Parade begins at 7:30 p.m. at Main & Franklin Streets and will proceed along Main Street to City Hall Park. Winners will be announced at 7:45 p.m. in Musik Halle, City Hall Park. Sponsored by Hauenstein’s.

  • 8:30-10:30 p.m. – Stan Lagrange and Kelly Clark – Brau Garten, City Hall Park. Sponsored by Celebrations. (see Musical Entertainment page for details)

Thursday, August 6

  • 7 - 10 a.m. – 41st Annual Kaffee Klatch – Evangelical United Church of Christ Fellowship Hall (802 10th Street). Tickets are $7 for adults; $3 for ages 6 – 12; and ages 5 and under eat free. For tickets contact Jodi Robinson at 812-719-7404. Tickets are also available at Old National and German American Bank. Sponsored by Epsilon Omega Chapter of Kappa Kappa Kappa.

  • Old Fashioned Bargain Days – Sidewalk sales throughout the day at businesses in Tell City.

  • 9 a.m. - Midnight – Schweizer Fest Market – City Hall Park (see Schweizer Fest Market page for details)

  • 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. – Self-Guided Walking Tours – Tour starts at the Tell City Historical Society Museum (located at the corner of 9th & Franklin Streets). Tour booklets are available at the museum for $2 each. Sponsored by ATTC and the Tell City Historical Society.

  • 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. – Tell City Historical Society Museum – Museum displays open to the public. Various historical DVDs will be played throughout the day. (Located at the corner of 9th & Franklin Streets.)

  • 5:30 p.m. – Schweizer Fest Testimonial Dinner – Knights of Columbus Home (947 11th Street, Tell City) - Honoring Drs. Marcrum, Bailey & Kleeman Medical Office. Tickets are $20. For reservations call 812-547-2385. Sponsored by the Perry County Chamber of Commerce.

  • 6 - 7:30 p.m. – Talent Show – Musik Halle, City Hall Park (see Tell City Has Talent (Contest) page for details)

  • 9:00 pm -Midnight – Tammy Cassidy & Friends – Brau Garten, City Hall Park – Sponsored by Schweizer Fest Business of the Year – Drs. Marcrum, Kleeman and Bailey Medical Office. (see Musical Entertainment page for details)

Friday, August 7

  • 8 a.m. – 38th Annual Schweizer Fest Road Run – Six-mile race begins at 8 a.m. and two-mile race begins at 8:05 a.m. Kid’s fun run begins at 9:20. The race starts on 7th Street and ends on Main Street. Sponsored by Perry County Memorial Hospital. (see Sports Schedule page for details)

  • 9 a.m. – 1st Annual Human Foosball – 9th Street adjacent to City Hall Park – Become a part of a giant, human-sized foosball table(see Sports Schedule page for details)

  • 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. – Schweizer Fest Quilt Show – Held in the Evangelical United Church of Christ Fellowship Hall (802 10th Street, Tell City). Admission $2 per person. Contact Charlotte Borders at 812-547-8107 for more information. Sponsored by the Lincoln Trail Quilt Guild.

  • 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. – 2nd Annual Car Show – The Schweizer Fest Car Show will be held in the St. Paul Catholic Church parking lot. To register a car for the event call Lana at 812-547-2333 or e-mail her at lana.hartz@oakwoodhs.com. Winners will be determined by voting ballots of attendees. Winners will be announced at 3 p.m. Sponsored by Oakwood Health Campus.

  • 10:30 - 11:15 a.m. – Silly Safaris Live Animal Show – Musik Halle, City Hall Park. Amazon John returns to Schweizer Fest after a big splash last year. Kids of all ages can enjoy a live animal family celebration. Sponsored by First Baptist Church of Tell City.

  • 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. – Self-Guided Walking Tours – Tour starts at the Tell City Historical Society Museum (located at the corner of 9th & Franklin Streets). Tour booklets are available at the museum for $2 each. Sponsored by ATTC and the Tell City Historical Society.

  • 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. – Tell City Historical Society Museum – Museum displays open to the public. Various historical DVDs will be played throughout the day. (Located at the corner of 9th & Franklin Streets.)

  • Noon – 1 p.m. – 28th Annual Diaper Derby – Musik Halle, City Hall Park – Crawling (0-12 months) and walking (13-18 months) races for babies and toddlers. Registration from 11:30 am to Noon. Sponsored by Roland’s Jewelry and MuGamma.

  • Noon - 6 p.m. – 8th Annual Schweizer Fest Wine Garden – City Hall Park – Sponsored by German American. (see Wine Garden page for details)

  • 1 p.m. – 7th Annual Schweizer Fest Cornhole Tournament – South end of the Beer Garden – Sponsored by Hedinger Beverage. (see Sports Schedule page for details)

  • 1:45 – 3 p.m. – 34th Annual Pet Show – Musik Halle, City Hall Park – Everyone goes home a winner! Registration is from 1:15-1:45 p.m. To enter the show, dogs and cats must have rabies shots. Presented by the Humane Society of Perry County.

  • 3:30 – 6:45 p.m. – Christian Music Show – Musik Halle, City Hall Park – Sponsored by Edward Jones Investments (see Musical Entertainment page for details)

    • 6 - 6:45 p.m. – Justin Bosley and T.J. Xanders

  • 5 p.m. – Schweizer Fest Horseshoe Tournament – Two-man “draw-for-partner” event - Zoercher-Bettinger Park (10th and Watt Streets)-(see Sports Schedule page for details)

  • 8 p.m. - Midnight – “Party of Five” – Brau Garten, City Hall Park – Sponsored by Waupaca Foundry. (see Musical Entertainment page for details)

Sunday, August 9

  • 41st Annual Schweizer Fest Golf Open – Day 2 – Hoosier Heights Country Club (see Sports Schedule page for details)

  • 8:15 a.m. – 4th Annual Schweizer Fest Bicycle Tour - Ride starts and ends at Zoercher- Bettinger Park (corner of 10th & Watt Streets). There will be four rides to choose from: 18 Mile – Bunny Slope Ride (starts at 8:25); 31 Mile – Bumpy Mule Ride (starts at 8:20); 62 Mile – Billy Goat Ride (very challenging) (starts at 8:15); 62 Mile – Billy Goat Slacker Ride (easier version of Billy Goat Ride) (starts at 8:15).   • 2 - 4 p.m. – Tell City Historical Society Museum – Museum displays will be open to the public. (Located at the corner of 9th & Franklin Streets.)
